Former Orlando Pirates star midfielder, Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi, has made his way back to professional football by accepting a role of head coach at Orange Vaal Professionals in the ABC Motsepe League.

Vilakazi, 33, whose soccer career came to a demise following a short stint in Denmark and last kicked the ball in Botswana was helping out as a coach at Education Through Soccer Academy (ETSA) last year.

The team has played two games under him now. He is doing well.

In the first game under him, we played 1-1 against African All Stars. That’s the team that will be playing against Polokwane City in this year’s Nedbank Cup.

In his second game in charge, we drew 1-1 again, against AmaBEE.

We have also appointed former Moroka Swallows players, Pitso Lekone as his assistant.”

Two school children lost their lives in a government swimming pool.

The 17 and 14 year-old boys from Thabo Vuyo Special School drowned on the morning of February 16.

The two pupils were amongst a group of other learners who visited the Emfuleni Swimming Pool. It is alleged they were guided by their female teacher.

According to Emfuleni Local Municipality, the group entered the facilities unauthorised, “unfortunately” the event ended up in tragic death of two learners.

“Whilst there is an arrangement runs only between Tuesdays and Fridays,” said municipal spokesperson Stanley Gaba in a statement.

“During this time, swimming instructors and lifeguards are available to supervise safety and rescue swimmers when the need arise.”

Every Monday of the week, the facilities are closed for maintenance.

According to him, the reasons for yesterday’s unauthorised entry are unknown.

The matter is currently under investigation with the SAPS.

iAfrika Foundation is a civil society movement that is very much concerned about the health of the people of the African Continent. It was established in 2010 and registered officially in 2012. In short, iAfrika Foundation is concerned about Health Freedom. Reginald Nhlapo took time to chat to one of its representative Teboho Motloung about HPV Vacinne…

 WHAT IS HPV?

(Stands for human Papilloma virus) This is the virus that scientists believe can lead to the cause of cervical cancer.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HPV AND HPV VACCINE?

HPV Vaccines are vaccination that scientists believe can be used to counter act on human papilloma virus.

HOW MANY TYPES OF HPV VACCINE DO WE HAVE IN THE MARKET PLACE?

There are two types of HPV vaccines in the market, namely: Gardasil and Cervarix vaccines

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO VACCINES?

Gardasil is from a company called Merck and Cervarix from a company called GlexoSmithKline(GSK). Cervarix is the only vaccine in the market that has OMV(Outer Membrane Vesicles) adjuvant, meaning, that has been produced through the use of outer membranes of bacteria. Their ingredients are different and Gardasil can be used in the intervals of two months with 3 shots, whereas Cervarix can be used by giving a first shot and the second shot can be administered a month after the first shot and the third shot can be given 5 months after the second shot) Both manufacturers recom- mend 3 doses and our government only give girls two shots

CAN THEY BOTH BE USED IN SOUTH AFRICA?

Yes, according to our authority they can be both used in our country. Cervarix is the one which is administered in our country.

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS OF THESE VACCINES?

Gardasilingredients are: Aluminumhydroxyphosphatesulfate,Sodium Chloride,L-hestidine,Polysorbate80,Sodium Borate(a serious poison) and water for injection. Cervarix ingredients are: aluminum and OMV-derived 3-O-desacyl-4’-monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL). You can see from the chemical name that MPL is a lipid

ARE THERE ANY GIRLS WHOHAVE BEING PROTECTED FROM CERVICAL CANCER BY THESE VACCINES?

It is too early to tell now as these now vaccines are still new in the market. They were both registered in 2006 and 2009.

WHY INJECTING 9 -YEAR OLD GIRLS?

Our authority believes that these girls are not sexually active as they believe that this vaccine can “work effectively” if girls are not active, sexually.

WHO IS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG WITH THE GIRLS?

We think it is parents themselves because a consent form says if anything goes wrong they (Parents) must take the girls to the clinic or hospital and pay for the transport to get there or even pay for the Doctors if they do not want to go hospitals or clinics because of the long queues.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THESE VACCINES?

Sudden Death, Infertility, Paralysis, Seizures, brain degeneration, Neurological disorders, Headache, Dizziness and Autoimmune disorder and many more.

ARE THE PARENTS AWARE OF ALL POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?

Not all possible side effects are mentioned or listed on the consent form, and as a result, parents cannot be aware of all the side effects.

 CONCLUSION

Alot of parents said that their children started behaving strangely after receiving injection. While some think that their children are allergic to something, others believe they’re bewitched.

These vaccines are causing confusion within the community members and the government has to account

Matakanye Matakanye, Secretary of the National Association of School Governing Bodies (NASGB) says:

We’ve met with the iAfrika Foundation on two occasions where they presented the research about HPV Vaccine and it was accepted however we cannot go public and say the vaccine is not efficient for our kids mainly because the Department of Health and Department of Education took an initiative that when children have cervical cancer then something be done to eradicate it. We acknowledge the advantages of the vaccine as well as disadvantages but we cannot only dwell on the negative side of it. For instance out of 100 pupils we need to establish at least 95 pupils who suffered from side effects so that we can approach the departments to prove that the vaccine is killing our children. We need to be vigilant that we don’t end up caught in between what I would refer to as pharmaceutical war hence we need to compile an impartial research with a view of defending our children so that we cannot send incorrect information to the public. We made a call to the Foundation to avail in-depth proof in relation to that but they are yet to revert to us. At this point in time we can’t advise parents otherwise until we have all the insight on the matter only then can we take a stand and act if needs be.

Attempts to solicit comment from the Department of Health drew a blank as they failed to respond to a list of questions sent before time of print.
